Customs clearing at Nigerian ports typically takes 3–7 working days from document submission to cargo release. This depends on the NCS examination schedule, completeness of documentation, and cargo type. Pre-arrival processing significantly reduces dwell time.
Key documents include: Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Form M (bank-approved), Combined Certificate of Value and Origin (CCVO), and relevant permits such as NAFDAC, SON, or NESREA depending on your cargo type.
We operate at Nigeria's three major seaports: Apapa Port (Lagos), Tin Can Island Port (Lagos), and Onne Port (Rivers State). Our licensed agents are on the ground at each port for fast, compliant cargo clearance.
Yes. Hiran Nigeria Limited is a fully licensed Nigeria Customs Service clearing agent (License No: NCS/LA/1984/0412) and is registered with the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) (Reg No: CRFFN/2006/0789). We are also CAC incorporated (RC: 1234567).
Import duties are calculated on the CIF value (Cost + Insurance + Freight) converted to Naira at the CBN exchange rate. The formula is: Import Duty = CIF Value × Duty Rate. Rates range from 0% for industrial machinery to 35% for vehicles. VAT of 7.5% and CISS levy of 1% also apply.
